I have not posted on my blog for a while because I have recently been supervised in my other subjects and also in my media lessons we have been working more on exam work. Also during our coursework lessons I have been working on my evaluation, which will be posted shortly.

Here i have changed the font of the *enter Shikari* to symbol font. this is so it looks for like the writing that is on their album and the writing that they are well known for. This will make my double page spread look more professional.

I have used a medium shot with aspects of long for my front cover. This is so the member of the new band are clearly shown. I have also asked Nadine to be slightly infront of the other band members as she is ment to be the lead singer. The arrange ment I have used was based on a Paramore band picture where the female lead singer is in front. As there were two females I have placed them at the front which i think works well. Over the picture i have placed the bands name, this is so it is clear that it is the bands name. I have also places the double page spread story a the top of the page below the title so it is clearly shown. The front cover links in with the contents and double page spread by colour scheme and use of stories. At the bottom of the page I have left a space which I have filled with what else the readers can find in this issue.

Here is my double page spread on 30 seconds to mars. For this page I have used a long shot for the background, I have used this so the shot shows the stage and symbol for 30 Seconds To Mars, but also so it shows the crowd so it gives a bit of atmosphere to the image. I took this image while I was at the gig on the 4th of December. To add to this image I have made an interview with the lead singer of the band Jared Leto, I have researched past interviews with him and have tried to make it as realistic as possible. Along with this I have also done a review of the gig and have put a quote from a fan in to make it more personal. The other two images on the page are used so there is more than one image to look at, I have also used them to show when the support act, Enter Shikari, were playing and also to so the crowd looking up at the stage. I have spread the image across the page so that the page is all one and there is no split, I have done this because I have research some Kerrang double page spreads and this technique has been used in some of their issues. It also helps so the text to flow. I have linked this into the contents and front cover page by colour scheme and also on my front cover the title of this double page spread is mentioned and a picture of the gig is used on the contents page as the main and biggest image.

I have linked the contents to the front page by use of colour scheme. I have also put a picture of the front cover on my contents page so it looks more professional. I have put all the text to one side to it is clear to read but by fading the colours together there is no big split down the page so the pages all links in.

research for contents

For my contents page I looked on the internet for popular types of stories to go in rock magazines. Firstly I looked at upcoming gigs and festivals that would link to my magazine genre. The festival I chose to put on my magazine was the popular download festival, which is a 3 day event filled with all kinds of rock music. I also used some popular rock artists to put in as stories in my magazine which will attract the fans of the artists. The artists I chose to use were 30 Seconds To Mars as my main story as they are becoming more and more popular world wide and also they were touring. I have also mentioned Hayley Williams, the lead singer of Paramore. And Metelica, for the fan that like the slightly heavier side of rock. Like most rock magazines I have also put in a competition.
